Thirteenth Century Cathedral at Ypres

Thirteenth Century Cathedral at Ypres

The thirteenth century cathedral of Saint Martins at Ypres as it appears during World War with its blackened stumps pointing to the sky at the right may be seen. At the right may be seen a portion of Cloth Hall and a portion of the north walls. In the foreground a party of German prisoners
are swinging along carrying a wounded comrade. The tower rising above the ambulance is the remains of the chancel and the higher portion of the wreckage is the north door.
