Title

Day ensembles

Description

Five day ensembles all with long sleeves, fitted bodices, full skirts, and a variety of lace caps. The seated woman is in plaid with trimmed basques matching the trim around the bottom of the skirt. The 2nd woman is in a cloak or mantle. The center woman (#3) has a square neckline, braid and tassel trim on her dress and around her waist, and a layered skirt that opens in center front to reveal a lace underskirt. The 4th woman has a simpler dress with a small collar, a wide belt, and minimal trim. The woman on the far right (#5) has a semi-fitted coat that matches her skirt with ribbon and tassel trim. The girl is wearing a square necked dress with short sleeves and a full skirt, all trimmed with ribbons and lace. (published for Godey's Fashions by Kimmel, New York)
