Description
Fine Arts Club
The Fine Arts Club is the youngest club at
the college; its conception stems from a desire to establish a cultural outlet on the
campus. The purpose is to help the student
towards an understanding and appreciation
of art, literature, music and drama. The officers are Eugene J. McAllister, president, and
Henry J. Witka, secretary-treasurer.
For rigorous teachers seized my youth,
And purged its faith, and trimmed its fire,
Showed me the high, white star of Truth,
There bade me gaze, and there aspire.
— from The Grand Chartreuse by Matthew Arnold
