ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
THE OAKS 1956 is the photography of Johnny Haines, paid for by Wally Longbons, produced in large
part by the patient enthusiasm of Dan O'Callaghan.
Chuck Steilen, Bill Hosey, Jim McNally, Bill Higgins, Bill Davis were prominent among the many
who cheerfully performed tiring, unrewarding tasks.
Denyse Hafner and her Mercy staff were precise and punctual.
Father Joseph Hratz and Mr. Charles Dougherty often represented Administration-Faculty cooperation
and interest.
Father Cletus Madsen and the Music Department inconvenienced themselves to allow office space.
Moderator Father John Keating with encouragement and good spirits gave aid that is beyond telling.
Robert Watkins contributed long nights; Jim Brennan and John Eversman transportation, nourishment,
many welcomed occasions to procrastinate.
The editor's roommates, Brian Kneafsey, Don McKillip, Bob Jackson, suffered with heroic patience.
Mr. Ted Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Odett of Wagners Printers compensated for editorial inexperience with much sound advice.
Student attitudes toward THE OAKS project, particularly as demonstrated in the Student Council
and its president, Bill Magee, were gratifying, enlightening.

The Davenport business community has again made it possible to publish THE OAKS. The continued generosity of these merchants and institutions well behoove consideration and patronage.
In addition to commercial support the OAKS business organization has enjoyed kindness from campus
sources.
Mr. Robert Taylor of the Saint Ambrose business office, Jerry Kelly, Bob Shea, Ed Rapier, Jim
Murray, Don Abens, Tony Domino — all have been essential to whatever success THE OAKS 1956
enjoys.
