National Federation
of
Catholic College Students
The National Federation of Catholic College Students was first established by the Student Council in
1942. It was abandoned for a time and was again revived in 1946 and has been an active group on campus
ever since.
The purpose of this organization is written in its Constitution:
"To broaden the social understanding of the students by providing further study and a resultant application of theoretical knowledge to practical action in individual fields,
To acquaint the student with his responsibilities to the student community and the post college community as they are reflected in these individual fields."
The different groups are called commissions and it is through these that the work of the lay apostolate
is carried on here on campus. The Commissions have varied interests for the students and are all built
around their particular interests. These commissions are named and pictured here.
The majority of the work of the commissions is channeled through the Executive Board which is a group
composed of all the officers of the commissions. It is by this means that the campus is serviced by the
NFCCS.
