1980 Yearbook
Description
FOOTBALL
The St. Ambrose football team had an
excellent third year of inter-collegiate
competition finishing up with five wins
and three loses.
The Bees averaged over 24 pts. a game
while giving up just over 18. The Bees re-
ceived excellent leadership from seniors
Mike Early and Phil Waters, who were
voted to the NAIA first team all-district 15
team along with freshman Tom Broders.
Broders was also voted the teams most
valuable player and was awarded the
best offensive player award. Tom Dilello
was voted the best defensive player and
freshman Jeff Newbury, who led the Bees
from his quarterback position, completing
over 50% of his passes, was voted the
teams most improved player.
Coach Keith Schroeder in his second
year as head coach and his head assistant
Phil Smoker, did a fine job of improving
on last years record of 3-5.
President and Mrs. Bakrow take "time out" to entertain a little one.
A one-a and a two-a and a three-a . . . .
