Alpha Phi Omega is the national service fraternity established through the activation ceremony on the
campus of St. Ambrose April 26, 1980. The purpose of Alpha Phi Omega is to develop leadership, pro-
mote friendship and provide service to humanity.
The fraternity has kept very busy not only establishing itself but also by becoming involved in various
service projects and fund-raising activities. A book exchange as a was held when school resumed for the
Spring 1980 semester. Can drives were held to collect cans and bottles. The first Ugly Man on Campus
Contest was sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega. A raffle was held to raise funds to sponsor "A Special Day
for Special Kids", a field day for handicapped children.
Much unity and participation was shown in getting this fraternity off to an active start.
