1980 Yearbook
Description
The annual St. Ambrose fall frolic,
Oktoberfest, had more organizations participating than ever before.
An 'original' kissing booth, a dunk
tank, and a cork gun gallery were
among the activities offered during
the two-day spree.
For those not faint of heart, the
International Students Organization
sponsored marriages "South of the
Border" style, with Padre (Henry)
Godinez officiating.
"Natty Scratch", a band familiar
to Oktoberfest revelers, played on
Friday.
On Saturday, the band "Chaser"
led over 1400 attendees on a musical excursion with many original
tunes.
Ambrose ended up having hard
times again after neighbors
complained about the noise level.
But, fate was on their side anyway.
The renowned band, "Hearts-
field", took the stage to wind up
Oktoberfest, and wound it right
down. A whole side of their sound
system blew out around 10:30.
j.C. Heartsfield's comment had to
be the understatement of the year,
"I only wish we could have given
more."
