Literary and Forensics
The Literary Commission functions on three main levels. The
most important is the one concerning activities of the Ambrosian News. Aiding anyone that
is interested in the literary field
in either journalism or short-
story writing is another function
of the Commission. The third is
the analysing of books which
affect our daily life. Besides this,
there is the responsibility of
writing a regional news-letter and
informing other schools of the
activities of the other regional
commissions.

The purpose' of the Saint Ambrose College Forensics Club is to foster interest in all speech forms and to
promote and improve the opportunities for student activity in the various speech, radio, television and drama
situations sponsored or encouraged by Saint Ambrose College.
In fulfilling the purpose of the
Club this year its members participated in a panel discussion
before the student body and a
series of discussions on WOC-TV
with students from other schools
in the Iowa Region of NFCCS.
The club also participated in
speech tournaments at Bradley,
Concordia, Iowa University, and
in a NFCCS debate at Brooklyn,
New York.
At all of these tournaments
the club represented St. Ambrose
in intercollegiate debate and, at
the Bradley and Iowa tournaments, the group engaged in informal discussion. The members
also participated in a parliamentary session at the Iowa tournament.
