The Young Christian Students look into the problems that a student must face while in college. If it
is possible they try to help the students solve these
problems by discussion groups, study days, review
sessions, and panels. This year at St. Ambrose the
YCS has been very fortunate in being able to set up
four new active groups in their apostolic work. Most
of the first semester work went toward the proper
orientation of freshmen. The second semester project
was studying proper orientation for the fall of 1955.
At the end of the semester, YCS set up review groups
so the freshmen would have a better chance) in their
semester tests. They helped new students buy books,
locate class rooms, find suitable living quarters and
engaged in other activities. They were not only concerned in helping other students; they were also interested in learning more about the faith. They studied
the Pope's Christmas message and encyclicals.
