OKTOBERFEST
Oktoberfest celebrations
date back to 1810, when
the first fest was held in
honor of the marriage of
King Ludwig I and his
bride Theresa, on Oct.
17.
The S. G. A. continued
this fine tradition again
with the 3rd annual SAC
Oktoberfest, held Fri.
Sept. 30 and Sat. Oct. 1.
Heavy rains prevented
the festivities from being
held under the stars on
Timmerman Field as originally planned, but didn't
prevent record crowds
from filling the cafeteria
and lounge with people enjoying all the fun, food and
beer that are so much a
part of Oktoberfest.
. . . it rained, but spirits
weren't dampened
