Description

The Ambrosian
I Remember
I remember, I remember the house where
I was born,
The shivers chasing down my spine when
I got up each morn.
I used to think that I was cold, in fact,
that I would freeze,
But those days were as nothing to the days
of beeveedees.
I remember, I remember last fall, when
some one told
Yours truly that the woolens didn't keep
away the cold;
It was a childish ignorance to harken to
him then
And, let me add, he'd better not advise me
so again.
Hardly
The storm was increasing. Some of the deck fittings had already been swept off.
The captain decided to send up a signal of distress. Hardly had the rocket burst when
a solemn-faced passenger climbed to the bridge.
"Captain," said he, "I'd be the last one to cast a damper on any man, but it really
seems to me this is no time to be letting off fireworks!"
Applied Proverb
One of our professors was lecturing on
the evils of strong drink: "Every corner in
hell," said he, "is soaked in whiskey."
The ensuing silence was broken by the
voice of Eugene Kelley: "Oh, death, where
is thy sting?"
Inspiring Thought
A woman had seen three husbands
buried. She met an old admirer and they
visited the cemetery together.
"Ah," she said, "if only you'd had more
courage, you might have been among
them."
