Program
The Manning Club began the
1963-64 school year with a get-
acquainted party, welcoming the
new seminarians to the Department.
Then in October, an active program
of monthly Friday evening movies
began. On October 26, Father Kok-
john started the lecture program,
speaking on "Literature and Morality." On November 8, continuing the
program, Father John Boyle of Assumption High School and Father
Lawrence Mullins of St. Anthony's
spoke on the Importance of Philosophy and Catechetics in the life of
a seminarian and in the modern
world. In December, another successful Christmas Party was held in
the Music Building and Dr. Coussens
highlighted the program by singing
"Silent Night" in German. Continuing another annual custom, the
St. Patrick's Day Party was held,
and then in April, there was the
annual picnic in Blackhawk Park,
Rock Island, where the four classes
of seminarians challenged each other
for the right to be the Seminary
Baseball Champ—a successful conclusion to a successful year.
