Description

Vision: The Basis of Growing Strength MR. THOMAS A. GRADY, B.A., Business Manager. B.A., St. Ambrose College. At St. Ambrose College, 1961—. Member of Administrative Council and Budget Committee. Member of Rotary, Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administration, Central Catholic College Association, Central Association of College and University Business Officers, and National Association of College and University Business Officers. MR. ROBERT O. TAYLOR, Office Manager. Graduate of Brown's Business College. At St. Ambrose College, 1941—. Member of National Office Managers Association. TUITION, BOARD, ROOM Many activities which provide for the efficient operation of St. Ambrose College are centered in the Business Manager's office. Each student knows it as the place to pay tuition, laboratory fees, parking, buy meal tickets, pay room rent, secure tuition loans, and bank his current expense allowance. Not as evident is the bookkeeping relative to the endowment, records of the property, the varied insurance coverages, the care, maintenance and repair of buildings and campus, the college bookstore, the Catholic Supply Center, ordering of laboratory supplies, paying wages and salaries — the whole myriad of features necessary for the successful operation of S.A.C. SCHEDULES, GRADES, TRANSCRIPTS "A balanced schedule of classes and study is a major key to the successful completion of college," says Miss Monholland. Because this is the aim of her office, the well- worn phrase of previous years, "sorry, that class is closed," has become obsolete with the new method of spring registration for the entire year. For freshmen, this problem has been eliminated due to their summer registration before coming to St. Ambrose. Office efficiency has been increased with the addition of more IBM equipment. Former students, including graduates and non-graduates, seek the services of the Registrar's office for evaluation of credits and for transcripts. The F.B.I, frequently enlists their help for identifying students who are being considered for promotions in government posts, and student standing is sent to the local Selective Service Boards. Added to these services, the secretaries form a "listening post" for the students with problems in scheduling, class changing or class dropping. Regularly released statistics show a healthy academic picture. MISS L. JUANITA MONHOLLAND, B.S., Registrar, Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Mathematics. B. S., Mary- crest College. At St. Ambrose College, 1950—. Secretary of committees on Educational Policy, Admissions, and Board of Studies. Member of American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers and Upper Midwest Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers. REV. FRED A. VERBECKMOES, B.A., Manager of College Bookstore. B.A., St. John's University at Collegeville. At St. Ambrose, 1947—. Member of National Association of College Bookstore Managers. 22
