Administrators Rev. F. J. McMahan Acting President Dean of the College The Ambrosian family appreciates the selfless dedication of Father McMahan, who has given generously of his time and talent in the dual role of Acting President and Dean of the College. His earnest counseling is welcomed by new students and those who find problems with scheduling. Profound admiration is felt by everyone for him because of his humble greatness and unselfish desire to meet the immediate and future needs of the College. Father McMahan has spent his priestly life at St. Ambrose College. Prior to his becoming Vice-President and Dean of the College, November 3, 1960, he served as Chairman of the Department of Education. After receiving his B.A. at St. Ambrose and being ordained, Father McMahan earned his PH.D. at State University of Iowa. Hs is a member of the National Catholic Education Association, the American Association of University Professors, The National Society for the Study of Education, Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Association for Higher Education. Father McMahan is the Director of the Testing Bureau. As Acting President he is chairman of the Administrative Council, the Educational Policy Committee, the Board of Studies, Testing and Admission Committees, the Committee on Faculty Procurement, Tenure and Advancement, and he is secretary- treasurer of the Corporation. He is a member of the Athletic and Budget Committees. 20
