Description

Editor's Note
Some time ago a picture was taken from Mr. Nieters' desk. Grief stricken, he has
inserted these lines hoping that the thief in reading them will repent the folly of his
ways and return the inspiration to its master's house.
Ode to the Picture Thief
Oh, Mr. Thief, Mr. Thief, thou hast brought me to grief,
Thou hast taken something from me—well, to be brief,
It's what makes the day sunny, the night moony,
It's my honey lady—one real grand baby.
Oh, Mr. Thief, as the barbarians of old, failed to value gold,
So, too, you cannot value the preciousness that picture enfolds,
Some day I hope your conscience will prick you
And force you to return the picture to its lawful owner.
Oh, Mr. Thief, as the statue aids Christians in worship
So the picture aids me in my thoughts;
Thank God you have only the image,
The reality you have no chance to get.
Looie Nieters.
Overheard in the Jug
Prof.: "The next person who interrupts this class will be put out."
Elwood: "Hooray!"
Sterck: "Edison says only two men in
every hundred are intelligent. Wonder
who the other one is."
