Description
One of the many highlights of the St. Ambrose year was its music.
Since the beginning of the semester, various instrumental
groups, vocal groups, and individuals presented recitals,
not only providing entertainment, but also truly demonstrating the
true definition of music.
The St. Ambrose Wind Ensemble had just
returned from a tour of Germany, Switzerland,
and Austria to begin another rigorous
year of repetoire. The All-American Concert began the year.
"Fledermaus" and the Sparrow Mass were
presented first semester in the vocal dept.
while "Carnival" and Brubeck's mass, "To
Hope" dazzled in the spring.
New things happened as well. An Advent
occurence, a community-sing of Handel's
"Messiah" began in the final days before
Christmas. With this, we saw the birth of a
new tradition.
