Description
Mauley Mall
McAuley Hall, located at the corner of 8th and Fillmore Streets, is a residence hall for students here
at St. Ambrose. Built in 1884, the hall has served many purposes until finally, in 1946, it became the
students' residence hall it is today.
The basement of the building serves as the recreation room and is also the sight of an annual dance.
Three priests reside at McAuley Hall: Fr. Menke serves as Dean of Men; Fr. McMahan is Director
of the College Testing Program; and Fr. Conrad is a member of the Academy Faculty.
McAuley's chapel, with beauty in its simplicity, is the scene of daily and Sunday Masses as well as
other religious exercises.
The hall elects its own officers each year; this year these offices were filled by:
Tom Seekamp — President
Jerry Arnold — Vice-President
Dick Dunsworth — Secretary-Treasurer
