National federation of
The National Federation of Catholic College Students is represented on our campus by an executive
board and seven commissions and committees. The executive board is made up of a moderator, senior
and junior delegates, treasurer, regional officers and chairman of the commissions and committees affiliated with the NFCCS on campus.
The organization's purpose is to develop Catholic lay leaders for the future. Panel discussions to acquaint students with their vocations were sponsored by the Catholic Action Commission. Know Mary,
love Mary, and serve Mary is the national theme of the Mariology Commission. Discussions of Mary and
the Mystical Body were held. The Press Group promoted reading of good literature. The Holy Sacrifice
of the Mass was thoroughly discussed by the Liturgy Commission. Human Relations studied social and
labor problems. Discussion of marriage and building of a family was the problem of the Family Life
Commission. The Forensics group has won high honors with the debate squad.
St. Ambrose, being affiliated with the NFCCS, is in contact with some 200 Catholic Colleges and Universities. It was founded by the students in 1937.
