Monogram Club
The Monogram Club, which is one of the most active
clubs on the Saint Ambrose Campus, is composed of those
men who have been awarded the Saint Ambrose "A" in
athletics.
The club has several purposes, a few of which will be
mentioned here:
To keep the athletic monogram before the student body
as one of the chief honors bestowed by the school; to promote and foster school spirit in all student activities; to
Ed Wollenberg, Dick Les, Bruno Mikrut
manifest a live interest in the awarding
of monograms, even to the extent
of offering suggestions to the athletic
board concerning awards given or not
given to individuals.
Some of the annual activities of the
club include, the Annual Smoker, a
'get together' meeting for the club
members; held in the Fall. 'Monogram
Madness/ a variety show presented
each Spring with a cast composed of
club members.
The annual initiation is the most
colorful event on the campus. It is
held after the basketball season each
year and usually lasts about three days.
Some think the initiation a trifle overdone, but those who complete the ordeal know that our club is composed
of men and are reassured that Saint
Ambrose makes the men just as the
men make Saint Ambrose.
