MUSIC'S CHARMS
The show began at eight o'clock,
The people came in quite a flock,
And stood in line about a block,
And loudly called for tickets.
It seemed to them about an age,
Before appeared upon the stage,
Two singers-who were quite the rage,
And chirped around like crickets.

The curtain up, they started in,
And surely raised an awful din;
We don't know what it might have been,
If Flanagan had not quit.
Then Wolfe let out an awful howl,
And Newman fumbled on a foul
That almost sounded like a growl—
They didn't make a hit.
And Wolfe he looked at Flanagan,
And both of them began again,
And up the scale they ran again,
Until they reached the top.
The singer's fame was all a bluff,
They showed they didn't have the stuff,
The crowd agreed they'd had enough,
And asked the pair to stop.
Tim Donohue to Professor in Physiology: "Say Father, if when picking
one's teeth with dental floss, one tied a piece of red flannel on the inside, do
you suppose that one could catch the frog in one's throat?"
Prof.: "Ask Barnes, he's tried almost everything."
Fr. Meinberg to Student in Mr. Basche's Class:' "Say, Bill, Isee you got
a low mark in English, how does that happen ?"
Student: "Say, when Mr. Basche starts and criticizes Shakespeare,
what on earth do you expect him to do with my work ?"
