Description
Academic Class Poem
As the day is drawing nearer,
When from Alma Mater's side
We set out upon life's journey
With her maxims as our guide.
We turn back to days of gladness—
Days so full of joy and mirth
Spent beneath Ambrosian shelter,
And appreciate their worth.
Faces now appear before us
Telling o'er the tales of old,
Causing us to linger somewhat
Ere we leave the Shepherd's fold.
Hearts beat loud in expectation
Of the days which are to come;
Either spent in peace and quiet
Or in the following fife and drum.
May we always be an honor
In our every word and deed
To the teachers of St. Ambrose
And their never changing creed.
Fare thee well! dear Alma Mater,
This we say with true regret;
These few words express the feeling
Of our gratitude and debt.
