'12. Francis J. Harrison, an energetic young lawyer of Davenport, rejected by the Examination Board on account of weak eyes, has applied for
enlistment in the Ordnance Department.
'12. Within the year has occurred the death of Mr. Albert Wadle of
Milo, Iowa. Mr. Wadle will be remembered by Alumni of recent years.
'12. Father J. R. Purtill, who was on the College faculty in 1912, and
was forced to leave for the South on account of poor health, is stationed at
Beeville, Texas, where he has erected a new church, and with several out-
missions he tends to the spiritual needs of a widely scattered Catholic population.
1911
'11. Rev. Walter Cullinan, who completed the College Course in 1911,
is pastor of St. Peter's Parish, Lovilia, Iowa.
'11. John J. Holland, of the Academic Class of 1911, is with the Colors.
He is a lieutenant, located at Camp Cody, according to the latest report received.
'11. Mr. Earl M. Donohoe, 2803 Ingersoll Ave., Des Moines, was married last September to Miss Rena Harrington.
'11. Among the several Alumni who are in the Medical Department of
the U. S. A., is Michael J. Heenan of Waterloo. Mr. Hennan finished the
Commercial Course here.

'10. Harry Daily, who is with the Colors, was reported "over there"
early in the winter.
'10. Mr. Edward P. Walsh, whose cheerful letter was published in
March, has reached the mud of the World War. He is with Company "B,"
21st Engineer Corps in or near the loremost fighting.

'09. Dr. Paul S. Schoebelen, for some time House Physician at the
St. John's Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., is a lieutenant in the Medical Corps.
1907
'07. Among the many Alumni of St. Ambrose College who have made
their success in the City of Davenport and have played a prominent part in
the City's progress is Dr. Roscoe Carney. Dr. Carney is physician in charge
of Pinehill Sanatorium, Secretary of the Pension Board, member of the District Medical Advisory Board and Medical Advisor of the W. C. O. P. The
first week in March he opened a tuberculosis free dispensary for the Visiting Nurses Association. In addition he cares for a large practice.
