Roll of Honor
THIS Roll of Honor bears the names of one hundred and sixty-
four gallant men who have laid aside private ambitions to
take up arms in defense of human rights. St. Ambrose is
justly very proud of her sons who have given themselves to
the service of their Country and the cause of humanity.
Whatever honors they win for themselves and for America
must necessarily rebound to her glory, consequently she owes them a debt
of gratitude. Over the seas and into the trenches she follows her boys with
the prayers and the love of a mother.
Despite the care we have taken to obtain the name of every Ambrosian
who is serving the Colors, there are doubtless some of whose enlistment we
have not learned. But as this Book is dedicated to all Ambrosians who are
with the Colors, we should like our Roll of Honor to include the names of
all. The rank and location of each man is given when known. We wish to
thank the many friends of the College who have assisted us in any way in
the preparation of this list. Alma Mater will be glad to learn of others
whose names should be on her Roll of Honor.
