TRI- BETA
The Theta Theta chapter of Beta
Beta Beta is an honor society for students of the biological sciences. It's
primary concern is to promote scholarship and closer fellowship in the biological sciences. This year the society
has been very active. An extensive
program of speakers was arranged,
with an excellent turnout for them.
There were several fund raising activities, such as car washes, and of course,
parties. Two members were sent to the
biennial convention of the national society, and plans were made to attend
district meetings. In addition, a group
of students went on a field trip to
Chicago over Christmas break. And of
course, the Departmental Awards Banquet was held in the Spring.
MASS COMM.
CLUB
The Mass Communications Club had
another fun and busy year. Jeanne
Rauth served her second year as the
president of the club. Mr. Les Shaefer
served as the sponsor for the group.
This year, the group membership increased as well as its activities.
Joan Holland of Joan Holland Advertising of Moline, 111., spoke to the
group on her experience in the advertising profession. There also was a
"Meet the Author" evening for St. Ambrose Lecturer, Julie McDonald. She
talked about her new book PETRA.
The club put together the spring musical program for "Fiddler on the Roof.
All the members were active in the
group and have had a successful year.
We hope that through our activities
this year, people come to realize how
beneficial the Mass Communications
Club really is.
Michael Sarich is working diligently in a Histology Lab.
