PSYCHOLOGY
CLUB
The Psychology Club became very
active in the last part of the 78-79
school year. They hope to expand in
the coming academic year.
The main purpose of the club is to
give students practical experience in
the field of psychology. It's other
goals are to make students aware of
job opportunities in their field, enrich
the learning atmosphere, and acquaint
student with others who have similar
interests.
The club's activities included a field
trip to the Comprehensive Community
Mental Health Center, Assistance in
selecting new faculty members for the
psychology department, and attend-
ence at the Midwestern Psychological
Association convention held in Chicago.
RESIDENT
ADVISORS
What is a Resident Advisor? A Resident Advisor, or R.A. as they're known
around the St. Ambrose dormotories,
are: friend, nurse, tutor, complaint-
taker, helper, cook, errand-runner,
message taker, ride giver, rules enforcer,
and a million other things.
Each floor in a dorm is assigned
two R.A.s. These people are chosen
each year after hours of extensive interviewing and evaluation.
It's not an easy job to be an R.A.
They have to be on duty at all times, to
help their students. Whether they might
be sick, or they might have a final
tomorrow, an R.A. is someone for the
on-campus students to lean on, to talk
to, but most of all, to help.
Co-Presidents Patty Frommelt and Pat Frye get everyone together to discuss a field
trip they will be taking.
