A TURNABOUT DANCE WITH A GREAT TURNOUT
The Ramada Inn Courtyard was packed
the evening of February 16, the St. Ambrose Sweetheart Dance.
It was a cold evening, but after the winter we've experienced, nothing is unconquerable. This was obvious because of the
150 couples present all ready to have a
really good time.
Most students wandered in after 10:00
with the look of satisfaction from the
good meal they just had at one of our
fine Quad City restaurants. All had that
twinkle in their eye caused either by their
lovable date or the spirits they took part
in at the fine Quad City restaurant.
The crowd varied from students, to
faculty to administration. Everyone seemed to enjoy the band, and many danced
the whole evening. After the dance, many
Ambrosians went to the disco in the Ramada to keep the party going.
The array of clothing worn by the couples was a fashion show in itself. The variety of styles of clothing reinforced the
"anything goes" attitude of the 70's.
With limp legs from dancing, fallen
down curls, and wilted flowers, the crowd
dispersed and each went their own way.
Hopefully for many it will be a night to
remember.
