HOMECOMING CONT.
Homecoming activities flourished in the unseasonably warm
weather by giving the students the "itch" to get involved.
The activities always start early, with class officers struggling
to get assistance in building their class float. The third annual
SAC gong show, held the Wednesday before Homecoming, really
started the surge in enthusiasm. Nine acts were entered, and the
judging was as outrageous as the acts.
Thursday night the traditional bonfire and pep rally were held.
Crowning of Homecoming Queen Jeanne Rauth and King Jim
White highlighted the evening.
Bobby socks, rolled jeans and greased hair gave the flair to the
fifties dance Friday evening.
Spirit started to soar early Saturday morning with the parade.
Rowdy fans then gathered for the football contest, ending in a
loss for the Bees 40-10. A formal dance was held that evening at
the Plantation in Moline.
"Don't look now Terri (Cahill), but do you see that guy over there?" said
Jean Ann (Loving).
The Homecoming game drew a large crowd, and every one had a good time
