Title
1968 Yearbook
Description
The '68 OAKS has attempted to mix humor with the serious cadence of academic
life and to recognize merit where and
when it exists. In this St. Ambrose College
is far from exhausted and we hope we
have focused on a small sample of that
merit.
It is fitting then, that time should be
taken to thank those who have contributed to this publication. Mr. John Schmits
went far beyond the term "advisor" in his
active participation in the development
of this book, and the excellence that it exhibits is a credit to both him and fine photographic art.
John Demme has been praised for his
work in the Senior section, but a special
note of appreciation can be sounded for
his efforts, both in the fine quality and
enormous quantity of pictorial material
provided. Although Art DeVooght will
swear up-and-down that he had nothing to
do with it, the fact remains that he did
much essential planning, practical hard
work, and he initiated many fresh ideas.
Bob Ditmon will likewise affirm that he
had nothing to do with it either, and, in
this case, he is right. All he did was to prevent the collapse of the entire operation.
Jim Martin, as Associate Editor, did a
good deal of work in the areas of copywork
and editing.
Others of the Staff cannot be forgotten
for their unselfish donation of time and
talent to the cause: Harry Peterson, Tom
Stratman, Rick Moskowitz, Bill Oiks, Bob
Robbins and Les Bell. Still others must
be thanked, each for his own special contribution: Mr. Jay Kane, Miss L. Juanita
Monholland, Mrs. Kay Spencer, Bill Graf,
Pete Kostadelos, Denny Thiessen, Nick
Dyer, Bill Ditewig, Bob Sunderbruch and
Vince Motto. In addition, we would also
like to thank the Club Presidents, the Student Council, and an anonymous group of
Seminarians for a great deal of help in
identifying pictures. To all, Thanks.
