Description
Proposed Dormitory Building
Will House Food Service
This building will provide lodging for 200 students, as well as a dining area, a new post
office, book store, a student lounge, an infirmary,
meeting rooms, and offices for student publications.
The completion of the first phase of the building project has set a precedent for future landmarks to be seen on campus. Contracts for this
project were awarded to Bracke-Hayes-Miller
Co., Moline architects, and the project which began in August 1966, was anticipated to be completed by October and ready for occupancy by
November 15. Despite some delays, the building
was completed within weeks of its projected date.
The new building houses more than fifty students, provides eight additional classrooms, and
it includes recreational facilities.
The new Dormitory and Food Service building
should be under construction by the summer of
1968, and it represents the second phase of the
College six million dollar development program.
