Description
Ambrosian News
Feature Department (left to right): Jerry McCann, writer; Larry Hartlaub,
writer; George Greene, copy writer; Jerry McConoughy, feature editor;
Jim Hall, writer.
The Ambrosian News is both a newspaper and an
organization. Together they make a team that is dedicated to serving the student body and the college as a
whole.
We of the staff are proud to say that we have tried
to improve the newspaper this year so that it will
better fulfill its purpose. The purpose is twofold: primarily it is to inform and secondarily it is to represent.
The student newspaper has a definite obligation to
inform the reader of the campus happenings. We have,
over the past year, tried to present a variety of news
coverage enabling one to select or to reject. Personal
convictions have been convictions of the student while
objectivity has been faithfully preserved.
The Ambrosian News must represent the college,
thereby living up to what is expected of a Catholic college publication. Also the paper has a special obligation
to represent the thoughts and feelings of the student
body.
Only by student interest and co-operation will the
News ever be able to achieve its goals. In the past
year there has been a definite increase in both student
interest and student co-operation. If the News has shown
signs of improvement this year it is primarily due to
this favorable change of attitude on the part of the
students.
We of the staff sincerely hope that we have satisfied
the expectations of both the students and the administration during the 1961-62 school year.
