Description

James P. Ruder
Business
Manteno, Ill.
Jim Ruder=Homecoming 1968; Jim Ruder=Homecoming spirit; Jim Ruder=
St Ambrose spirit. Yes, Jim was the cause and the impetus behind this
year's homecoming. How good a job did he do? We all know the answer to
that question. Jim in his usual hard working manner has also achieved
mention in Who's Who Among American College Students for 1969. During
his four years here at St. Ambrose, Jim has proven by his hard work and
very vibrant enthusiasm that he is an outstanding Ambrosian and more than
that, an outstanding personality. Jim, nobody else will be as welcome as
you will be at Homecoming 1969.
James D. Schneider
Philosophy
Magnolia, Ark.
Jim, whose major is Philosophy, has a philosophy all of his own—friendliness. His pleasant
southern drawl is easy on the ear. He is always
ready to lend a hand to help his fellow student.
Among the boarders of Hayes Hall there is no
better leader than Jim. He has served two years
on both the Academic Senate and the Seminary
Senate. If the saying "Life is what you make of
it" is true, we know that Jim will have a very
good life.
The Athletic Department will always be indebted to the dedication and work of Dennis
Thiessen. Through his excellent reporting in the
weekly sports column and his involvement in
the intramural program, our athletic program
has enjoyed continued success. Denny has also
put his speech major into practical use by participating in the debate team and broadcasting
the basketball games. Always willing to be of
service, the "Voice of the Bees" deserves special
recognition for his many contributions.

Henry has been at St. Ambrose for three years now and maintains better
than a "B" average. But Henry's specialty is running. He holds the school
mile record; he is a member of the four mile and distance medley teams
that also hold school records. In cross-country, he holds the school three,
four, and five mile records. During his senior season he set seven consecutive course records at seven different schools. Henry has climaxed his cross country career here at St. Ambrose by placing 24th in the N.A.I.A. National Meet this fall. Needless to say, Henry is outstanding.
