This year St. Ambrose and Marycrest went "Up, Up,
and Away" with Homecoming '68. This year's homecoming unbelievably surpassed last year's program.
Under the direction of Ambrosian Jim Ruder and Sue
Putnam from Marycrest, the students of both schools
truly went "up and away" for five thrilling days and
nights.
Homecoming '68 enjoyed the longest parade ever
to appear in the Quad-Cities. A Queen's Tea was a
very huge success and the addition of a float-building
rally proved fruitful and fun. Another "first" was the
hilarious greased pig contest. The flag football game
with rival Augustana resulted in victory for the Bees.
And no one will ever forget the Saturday evening
concert with The Happenings, Fred Smoot, and Denny
Brooks, or the fabulous atmosphere of the Friday
night dance at the Col. The peak of homecoming was
reached Saturday night at the Danceland party
where students were surpised with the attendance of
the Concert entertainers.
