DEDICATION
Reverend Frederick Joseph McMahan has
served St. Ambrose College for many years. Father graduated from St. Ambrose College in 1935.
He began his long career of service at St. Ambrose in 1940 when he was a high school teacher
and assistant principal at the Academy. In 1951
he became a faculty member of the college. Father McMahan was chairman of the Education
Department from 1954 until 1963. He has also
served as Acting President and Vice-President of
the college.
Currently Father McMahan is Director of the
Testing Program and the Academic Dean of St.
Ambrose. Father meets this difficult job by upholding the academic standards of this college,
yet he never fails to realize the individual personalities of the students.
It is because of his ability to balance the two
factors in his present position as Academic Dean
and because of his previous years of contribution
to the St. Ambrose College Community, that we
dedicate the Oaks '69 to Father Frederick McMahan and hope to see future years of his outstanding and devoted service.
