Mildred [Strong] attended 6th and 7th Grades here after the district became consolidated. Some rural school buildings were moved in and placed around this building - and used for grade rooms until the new building was erected across the street south.
The time was 1915 and a young man, Rube Eatinger was making a call at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Orient. The man in the center was J.F. Kingery, cashier and Ross Coffman, right, was bookkeeper.

The telephone replaced the postcard as a way to keep in touch and thus was the end of the 'GOLDEN AGE' of post cards
