Description
At the close of the past basketball season, Bob Carton was elected by his teammate lettermen as honorary captain and
captain elect for the ensuing season. Bob
was also captain of the '39-'40 basketeers.
Bob, a Moline boy, has proved to be a
great player and leader in his three years
at St. Ambrose.
COACH JIM DOCKERY
Carton broke Into the lineup regularly
while only a freshman and has never relinquished his guard position since that
time. Last year, his sophomore year, he
played good steady ball, although the
Bee's team was comparatively weak. Bob
proved to be the real spark of the '40-'4l
basketball season, leading his team to a
very successful season. Carton is primarily a defensive ace but garners his share
of the points occasionally.
