Description

Davenport, Oct. 20—In a Parents' Day
game which attracted one of St. Ambrose's
largest crowds in history, the Bees maintained their perfect record against a hopeful but comparatively weak Rockhurst aggregation, 13 to 0. Although the score
does not indicate the superiority of the
Ambrose team, statistics showed their first
downs and total yardage practically
equaled the Augustana showing.
The Ambrose defense was tops in this
game and when the final gun sounded,
Rockhurst had piled up exactly 31 yards—
negatively.
The two Bee scores came early and late
in the tilt, the first one coming on a 14
yard jaunt by Al Haworth while Stan Sos-
nouski, playing his final football game of
his career, bolted through the center of
the line from the five to tally the second
touchdown in the final period.
Davenport, Oct. 25—Detroit Tech became the sixth victim of the great St. Ambrose football team when the Bees gathered 21 points in the first half to defeat
the Michigan grid squad, 21 to 0.
For the second successive game, the opponents left the gridiron with a minus
yardage total—the Techsters losing four
yards when the final statistics were tabulated.
The Ambrose scores came as a result of
three touchdowns by Tony Janick, Tony
Rotunno, and Bill Leithner and a safety
when an alert Bee caught a Tech back behind his goal line trying to recover a fumbled pass from center.
Detroit Tech came back a rejuvenated
team in the second half and held the Bees
scoreless.
