Title
1940 Yearbook
Description
FOREWORD
Interest in the student publications of St. Ambrose has always been more acute from
the readers standpoint than from that of the contributor or supporter. It is the purpose
of this yearbook to cultivate the cooperation of all students, and journalists especially, in
lending their talents to the composition of our college newspaper and magazine.
OAKS represents a new addition to our ensemble of publications, and it intends, with
the fresh enthusiasm which an innovation elicts, to elevate the standards and to facilitate
the editing of campus publications.
With its revival the annual introduces a form of college journalism with which stu
dents and student writers have become unfamiliar during the past seventeen years.
Enlivened interest and appreciation will, we hope, effect a literary renaissance at
St. Ambrose.
