final Centennial faculty lecture Dec. 7 on the topic, 'The
Pioneer Woman in Middle
Western Fiction." Citing such
authors as Ruth Suckow and
Conrad Richter, Dr. Kennedy
expressed the feeling of the
conflict between the "pioneer
dream" and the harsh realities
American pioneer women
faced.
