Description
Midget Football
E. Powers, Stolley, F. McDermott, Hurley, Madsen, Campbell, Wiggers.
Organ, Brennan. Capt. Rank, Till, J. Powers.
The Midget football season during the late fall was short but worthy of the little
team. But one game was played and that with the crack J. B. Young Intermediate
School eleven, lightweight champions of Davenport. In that one fracas the "littlest
of all Saints" romped over their much bigger opponents to the tune of 30 to 0. Hurley,
Garvey, and McDermott went through the opposing line and around the ends with
an unstoppable momentum and the team-work was excellent. Capt. Rank and Organ
starred on the line.
In connection with the success of the team it is fitting to mention the work of
Daniel Keeler who gave his time toward keeping the Midgets at work, while Fr.
Adrian attended to the Juniors. We're proud of our Midgets and we hope they continue to cover their name with glory.
