18—"Bishop" Bill Hughes delivered an oration in the "gym" tonight. It so impressed his hearers that a movement is on foot to have him elevated to the
dignity of "Arch-bishop."
20—Ghost stories were flying thick and fast in the smoker tonight. Anything
to help pass away the time.
21-—"Red" Light notified to sleep with his feet out of the window by the sanitary board.
22—Mr. Seymour lectured tonight on Thomas a' Becket.
24—Some one put a sparrow in Mike Highberger's desk. Mike intends to sue for
damages to his composition book.
25—Day before Thanksgiving. General permission for those who did not go
home.
26—Thanksgiving day. Visit to Mercy Hospital and St. Johns, in the morning.
General permission in the afternoon.
27—Right in the midst of "exams." Nothing to do but work.
28—Wilhelm left to go back to Austria and fight against Serbia.
29—Joint meeting today.
30—New "aggies" enter for winter term.
December
3-"Our Georgie" gives an imitation of a cat serenade in the dormitory,
arrival finds it hard to use a night-shirt.
4-Friday, fish and beans for dinner.
6-President makes some remarks on approaching Christmas vacation. College
entertains Bishop Davis and other distinguished guests at 6:30 dinner.
Program in the evening in honor of our patron, St. Ambrose.
7-St. Ambrose Day, general permission in the afternoon, blacklist suspended.
8-Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It is reported that "secret service
men" are on the trail of some of the violators of the rules.
9-Wilhelm back on the job, he says Austria can get along without his help and
so there is no need of risking his life.
10-Nothing doing. P. H. Pete begins preparations for going home.
11-Mahoney bids farewell to S. A. C.
