The editors of this department take a great deal of pleasure in calling to the
attention of the Alumni the fact that it was one of their own number who, almost
singlehanded, has brought to the city of Davenport the 1916 Supreme Convention
of the Knights of Columbus.
Lee J. Dougherty has succeeded in capturing this coveted honor for his home
town, when so many large centers were eager to obtain it. Mr. Dougherty by
his zeal for the city, the college, and Loras Council of the Knights of Columbus,
has deserved the praise of every citizen of Davenport, every student and Alumnus, every member of the Council.
We note, with gratification, the increasing number of the Alumni, the material growth of our Alma Mater. The Freshmen classes of St. Ambrose are larger
every year. The fame of our college is spread wider. Our Alumni is now in its
third year. May its members take an active interest in it. Let their motto be:
"If You Can't Do Anything Else, BOOST!"
