Title
1937 - Pasture furrowing with spacings 7 and 14 feet
Description
:Deaf Smith Co. . Pasture furrowing was done in May 1937 with spacings of 7 and l4 ft. Furrowing was done with a 3-row lister having the center beam removed, and the other two treated by removal of the moldboards and clipping the heels of the points so that furrow 8 inches wide was made . The implement was pulled with a 40 HP tractor in high gear in order to scatter the removed soil as much as possible to prevent covering of vegetation near the furrow. This pasture has received about 11 inches of rain since it was furrowed , but a great deal of water was lost by run-off.
