Description
First hotel was built in 1843 by John Banfill in Jacksonville, Iowa ( later renamed as Garnavillo, Iowa). The building sat on Main Street , Block 11 Lot 8, diagonally across from south east corner of the city park. Note the sign states W. Brumm Hotel. This photo was taken between 1875 and 1880 when Wm. Brumm was proprietor.
