Description
Dr. Norm Nielsen captured the attention of Kirkwood's Board of Trustees when he was part of Dr. Stewart's administration. The former high school teacher climbed the ranks in secondary education prior to joining the Kirkwood staff in 1979 as Assistant to the President. He served as Vice-President, Administration (1980-1983) and Vice-President, Academic Affairs (1983 - July 1985) before being appointed by the Kirkwood Board as the third president on July 3, 1985.
