Description

Around 1920, Tyden's boxcar seal factory caught fire and he became interested in fire prevention. Tyden became acquainted with a St. Louis businessman who claimed to have developed some designs for fire sprinklers and valves. When Tyden found out the business was in trouble, he brough 1005 interest in the Viking Corporation and began manufacturing fire sprinklers and valves in Hastings, Michigan. He invented a dry valve sprinkler system . The Viking Group now provides sprinkler systems and valves globally.
