Description
ODE ON WEST BEING SENT TO THE STUDY HALL
'Twas a bright and sunny afternoon,
Between the hour of two and three.
The two sat there in the cozy room—
Our Edwin West and Joseph B.
They were getting along so good, you know,
"I like you," said Joseph B.
"I think perhaps 'twill snow,"
Said Edwin gleefully.
The Rev. J. P. comes to the door.
"With all my heart," said Joseph B.
Alas, they do not talk no more,
J. P. to Edwin, "See the M. of D."
Edwin's in the study hall,
Commercial too you can be sure.
He could not think of the Latin Hall,
There was nothing there to lure.
