Description

caging a long throw, or by skillfully dribbling up under the basket and
securing a short shot. Simons and DeMeulenaere showed considerable
class in jumping, guarding their men, and playing the ball around the floor.
Ryan, Sheehan, and McGivern, by their close guarding, were the main reason for the small count of the opponents; and they, too, occasionally contributed to our own score. Volz, McGady, Coryn, Brown, Coughlin, and Healey,
although they did not play quite the sufficient number of games for a letter,
were in the race from the beginning, and kept the "A" men constantly fighting for their positions.
At a meeting of the letter men, O'Connor was chosen to lead the '17-'18
five and with all of the "A" men, and a large number of the squad back,
high hopes are entertained for a record winning team.
