Speakers and Libraries Challenge Thought
Leaders, and their words, are often the guideposts for the community of men. Keeping this in mind, St. Ambrose annually sponsors a lecture
series which brings leaders of distinction in various fields, to the campus and into the Quint-City area. Senator Eugene McCarthy inaugurated
the 1964-65 series in November.
Ambrosians find the Quint-Cities an area
most conducive to academic endeavors.
The greater Quint-City area boasts no
fewer than eleven major libraries, four
collegiate and seven municipal. Here, left
to right, Frank Iamele, Rick Powers, John
Elbert and Don Knapp leave the Davenport Municipal Library. The Davenport
Library particularly accentuates the expanding cultural horizons of the Quint-
Cities. A new 5% million dollar building
program was begun at the library in 1962.
