Legion of Mary
The mother Catholic Action Organization for lay students at
St. Ambrose College is the Legion of Mary. The object of the Legion,
as mentioned in its official handbook, is the sanctification of its
members by prayer and active co-operation, under ecclesiastical
guidance, in Mary's and the Church's work advancing the cause
of Christ.
Subject to the approval of the Concilium, the parent organization, and to the restrictions specified in the Handbook of the Legion,
the Legion of Mary is at the disposal of the Bishop in the Diocese,
the Parish Priest, (at St. Ambrose, the College President) for any
and every form of Social Service and Catholic Action which these
authorities may deem suitable to the Legionnaires and useful for
the welfare of the Church. Legionnaires will never engage in any
